Auror is pleased to announce the latest addition to our user community: Farmers Trading Company, one of New Zealand’s largest and most recognised retail brands.
Starting this month, all 56 Farmers store locations nationwide will use Auror as a key part of their loss prevention programmes to report crime incidents, identify offenders, and use intelligence as part of their daily work to keep their stores, customers and local communities safer.
While the team at Farmers has long held a reputation for proactivity in their approach to preventing theft in their stores, according to Farmers National Loss Prevention Manager Michael Hulme it was the opportunity to work together more closely with other local retailers and the Police that made the decision to adopt Auror an easy one.
“My experience with Auror in prior roles showed the difference it can make to equip our store teams with the right tools and intelligence to prevent crime and keep our customers safe,” says Michael Hulme, Farmers. “Ultimately we want to be doing our part working with other businesses and NZ Police to reduce the offending happening in the wider community. Auror’s software helps us do that in a new and innovative way.”
Retail theft is a significant issue in New Zealand, costing the economy an estimated $1.2 billion per year according to Retail NZ and contributing to other quality-of-life crimes.
Auror users can expect to see Farmers team members on the platform right away, adding new incidents, contributing intelligence and engaging with Police and other Auror users.
“Working with a recognised brand like Farmers is tremendously exciting for our team and the wider Auror crimefighting community,” says Auror CEO Phil Thomson. “Their professionalism and dedication to making their stores safe is well known in the New Zealand retail sector, and we know they’ll make an excellent contribution to the success of our platform and community efforts to reduce crime.”
