Leading global retail crime intelligence software company, Auror, was presented with the Innovation and Frontier Technology Award at the 2026 AmCham-DHL Express Success & Innovation Awards this month, celebrating its growing impact in the United States.
The Innovation and Frontier Technology Award recognised leadership in cutting-edge technological advancements in the U.S. by a New Zealand based company.
After expanding to the U.S. in 2019, the Auror Network of retailers has grown to include many of the largest retailers from coast to coast, all embracing collaborative technology to stop retail crime. Meanwhile, Auror’s North American team, primarily based in Denver, Colorado, has grown roughly 20% year-on-year. Auror's retail crime intelligence platform has helped retailers deliver significant reductions in violent retail crime directed towards frontline retail workers across the U.S - with one major outdoor gear and apparel retailer reporting a 23% reduction in the rate of violence in the last 18 months, while a leading health and beauty retailer saw a 12% reduction.
The award also acknowledged the partnership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), which strengthens the support Auror’s retail partners offer NCMEC to keep children safe.
Auror co-founder and CEO Phil Thomson said the win highlights the strength of New Zealand innovation and the increasingly close relationship of Kiwi and American business communities.

The evening also brought together U.S. Ambassador Jared Novelly, Minister for Police Mark Mitchell, and leaders from across the New Zealand – U.S. business community.
