Retailer-entered anonymised information in Auror can surface aggregated trends and insights into retail crime. When retailers enter details of an event using the platform’s structured reporting form, they can include an event type and behaviours. This can surface events that are, for example, violent and serious, threatening, or events with no aggravating factors. There can be overlap between these categories as a single event may have multiple behaviours, and retail teams can experience events differently.
Typically, ‘violent and serious’ behaviours and events include things like physical abuse, weapons involved, arson, assault, robbery, and forms of aggression. Retailers can also document other threatening and non-violent behaviours, such as forms of verbal abuse, erratic behaviour, or where individuals are intoxicated or under the influence, and denied entry.
