"I think back even a few years ago and the way we collaborated through text message threads and WhatsApp and Signal and it was all over the place. When I think about the Retail Crime Hub and the connection with law enforcement inside our platform really thriving, it really tears down the isolated reporting and drives collective action, pulling things forward really fast."

When a case comes to us through Auror, it's served to us on a silver platter, and those are the cases that get worked... Things that come from Auror are the ones that are going to get looked at first and the ones that are going to get solved first."

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions

The Auror Network brings together leading retailers, allowing them to record crime in a structured way, surface repeat offenders, and securely share this information with law enforcement agencies. These connected groups both power the Auror Network, working collaboratively to connect and prevent crime by leveraging the power of Auror’s Retail Crime Intelligence platform.

A revolution for case management, every incident captured across the network sharpens retail crime intelligence, making it easier to identify repeat offenders, spot organized retail crime rings, and see patterns that no single retailer could detect alone. Retailers control what they share and with whom, and only offender data is retained on the platform. Law enforcement agencies, 3,500+ and growing, access this information directly through secure, purpose-built workflows, closing the loop between reporting and resolution. The impact of the network compounds: every new retailer, every new event, every resolved case makes the network stronger for everyone in it.

Retailers and law enforcement agencies can both join the Auror Network. When a retailer joins the network and opts in to sharing high level crime intelligence with other retailers, retailers it benefits from accumulated intelligence on the small proportion of repeat offenders causing the highest harm across the stores in its communities. Similarly, law enforcement agencies gain access to secure, structured, and connected information that provides a deeper insight into the retail crime problem impacting the communities they serve. Participation is governed by privacy policies and data processing agreements, ensuring every party stays in ultimate control of their data and who can see it. Learn more about Auror’s privacy and security policies on the Trust Center.

Users of the Auror platform control what information they share with other retailers and law enforcement. The platform has been built using privacy-by-design principles and Auror regularly undertakes Privacy Impact Assessments (or local equivalents) in our core markets  to review our continued compliance. Auror’s privacy statement in each region explains how the platform helps retailers gather, use, and share information about events and retail crime occurring in their stores lawfully and respectfully. All data is stored using industry-standard security practices, and we undertake regular third party testing to confirm the integrity of our security systems.  Learn more about Auror’s privacy and security policies on the Trust Center.

When retailers contribute retail crime incidents to the network and choose to share, Auror Retail Crime Intelligence surfaces suggested connections between events potentially involving the same persons of interest across stores within the network for human review and approval. Once connected, retailers and law enforcement are provided a unified picture of that person’s offending across the network. Auror data consistently shows that roughly 10% of repeat offenders are responsible for the majority of loss across all regions. The Auror Network makes these prolific offenders visible across organizational boundaries, intelligence that no single retailer or standalone loss prevention platform could build alone.

Every incident contributed to the Auror Network strengthens intelligence for all participants. As more retailers report and law enforcement act on that intelligence, a clearer pattern of repeat offending is developed, allowing law enforcement to take action and  report outcomes back into the system, creating a compounding flywheel between retail and law enforcement that helps keep stores and communities safer. This means that participating retailers benefit from the accumulated intelligence when they join and realize compounding value as they add their own intelligence to the Auror Network.
