Creating safer stores and stronger communities

Auror exists to empower retailers to work closer together with law enforcement to stop crime. That’s why we built the Retail Crime Intelligence platform that connects the dots on high-volume retail crime through information sharing and collaboration.

Our purpose

Shining a light on retail crime

Every day, organized retail crime casts a longer shadow. From shop floors and high streets, to transnational crime rings connected to gangs, guns, and drugs, organized retail crime is a network that adapts and evolves into more serious crime.

Our purpose is to bring it into the light.

The Auror Network brings together the largest retailers in the world, allowing them to record crime in a structured way, connect the dots on repeat offenders, and securely share that information with police. This enables earlier, coordinated action to prevent crime before it escalates. Because repeat and organized offenders rely on anonymity.

When we work together to bring retail crime into the light, we create safer stores and stronger communities.

our mission

50 in 5

Reduce violent retail crime by 50% in the next five years.

Crime in retail isn’t victimless, and it isn’t limited to shop theft. It includes violence, assault, and organized activity. It puts everyday people at risk, leaves a lasting emotional impact on victims, and carries a serious economic cost.

That’s why we’re calling on retailers, law enforcement, and the wider community to join us on our mission to reduce violent retail crime by 50% over the next five years.

50 in 5 is more than a target.

It’s a shared commitment to act faster, work together, and make retail environments safer for everyone.

our STORY

A new dawn for retail crime prevention

Retail crime costs billions annually, putting constant pressure on retailers, staff, and communities.

Inspired by this challenge, our founders started Auror to give retailers and law enforcement agencies access to privacy-first shared intelligence that brings crime into the light. Here's how we got started:

2012

Founded to solve a real problem

Retail crime was costing retailers billions, with no effective way to report it, connect with others, or prevent it from happening in the first place. We set out to change that.

2012

Proven in the real world

We started out by partnering with New Zealand’s largest supermarket and police force. Today, we support leading retailers and are the retail crime tech partner of choice for the NZ police.

2018

Expansion to Australia, the UK, and Europe

We onboarded one of Australia’s largest supermarkets, established a Melbourne base, and began engaging global retailers in the UK, Europe, and Canada.

2019

Rebuilt for global scale

Before expanding into more international markets, we rebuilt the platform from the ground up to address the scale and complexity of global retail crime.

2019

Expansion to the United States

We onboarded our first North American enterprise retailer on the rebuilt platform, and opened a Colorado office to support retailers and law enforcement, The Auror Network grew fast. Now serving over 58,000 stores in North America, we are onboarding new retailers and law enforcement agencies at pace.

Today

The largest Retail Crime Intelligence network in the world

Now, we support the largest retailers and law enforcement agencies across North and South America, The United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. And, we're growing everyday.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions

Auror was founded on the belief that retail crime is a community problem, not just a retail one. Retail crime leaves frontline workers and shoppers unsafe. Before Auror, retailers fought retail crime alone with fragmented tools, and law enforcement couldn't easily connect cases across retailers. Auror was built to change that by connecting retailers and law enforcement through shared Retail Crime Intelligence to make stores safer and the communities that depend on them stronger.

The name Auror references a guardian, someone dedicated to protecting others. That mission shapes everything Auror builds: a Retail Crime Intelligence platform designed to protect frontline store teams, customers, and the communities that depend on retail. Safer stores don't just reduce shrink; they keep communities stronger.

Auror operates across North America (including the United States, Canada, Mexico, and other parts of Latin America), the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, connecting over 85,000 retail locations with more than 3,500 law enforcement agencies in a secure network. The platform is the largest, fastest-growing network of its kind. Auror complies with local privacy and regulatory requirements in each market it operates, while delivering the same connected Retail Crime Intelligence, making it globally scaled and locally compliant.

Auror works with officers from more than 3,500 law enforcement agencies globally, securely connecting retailers directly with local law enforcement to investigate and prevent repeat retail crime. Retailers securely share structured intelligence with law enforcement through the platform. Officers receive evidence they can act on without visiting stores or chasing evidence by phone. The result is faster investigations, higher case resolution rates, and a genuine public-private partnership against retail crime.

Auror's mission is to reduce violent crime in stores by 50% in five years and create safer communities for everyone. That goal is only achievable through a connected network of retailers and law enforcement. Its impact compounds with every incident reported, and turns previously unconnected events into coordinated prevention. Safer stores protect the frontline workers and communities that depend on retail every day.

Retail crime data has always been fragmented, siloed, and under-reported, hiding the true patterns behind repeat and organized offending. Individual retailers have historically tracked incidents within their own stores, but have not had visibility of the impact prolific offenders have across the wider retail community. Auror solves that by acting as the secured intelligence layer: connecting data and information into always-on, actionable intelligence that stops crime rather than just documenting it.
