Leading global retail crime intelligence software company Auror was crowned Vendor of the Year at the 2026 Australian Fraud Awards, hosted by Retail Knowledge.

The event brought together the Australian retail sector in Sydney last week, to highlight and celebrate the great work being delivered across the industry in retail crime prevention, risk management and loss prevention.

The Retail Risk Vendor of the Year Award recognises integrity, honesty, consistency, innovation and outstanding service to the retail community.

Auror Director of Retail Partnerships ANZ Brett Farley said the win reflects the strength of the relationships the team has built across the Australian market.

"This recognition belongs just as much to our retail and law enforcement partners, who are collaborating more than ever before to keep stores safe from retail crime,” he said.

“We always set out to build meaningful partnerships with our retail and law enforcement partners - we’re not interested in being just a supplier - but to be an active participant in the sector-wide effort to get on top of retail crime.”

Victoria Police’s Operation Supernova, led by Box Hill CIU, was awarded the Retail Risk Retailer and Policing Collaboration Award. The Operation demonstrated strong efforts in partnership with retailers, particularly through Auror, to deliver positive outcomes for the community - most notably, dismantling a 19-person organised retail crime gang linked to $10 million in products such as baby formula and health and beauty products.

Meanwhile, New South Wales Police Force’s Operation Percentile was highly commended for the category. The Operation, underpinned by retailer collaboration through Auror, is key to NSW’s new statewide retail crime strategy to address assaults, intimidation, threats and theft in retail settings.

Auror and David Jones were also highly commended for the Retail Risk Best Collaboration Award, which recognises initiatives between retailers and suppliers to prevent and address retail crime. Auror was named Retail Risk Vendor of the Year for the UK Fraud Awards in 2025, and last won the Vendor of the Year Award for the Australian Awards in 2024.

“It was great to see so many of our close partners recognised for the innovative work they’re doing to protect their stores from crime,” Brett said.

“We’re really driven - as I know many of our Australian partners are - by our shared mission to reduce violent retail crime by 50 per cent in the next five years. We know this can only be achieved through collaboration, so we’re excited to continue finding ways to strengthen these partnerships.”

Other key winners from the night include Coles for Risk Management Team of the Year and Innovation in Risk Management, Chemist Warehouse’s Mo Nagi for Retail Risk Hall of Fame Award, and Coles’ Byron Worthington for Retail Risk Rising Star of the Year Award.
