Flock Safety offers hassle-free LPR, but Auror intelligence-led LPR makes stores safer and costs you less in the long run. Learn more below.
See how Auror Intelligence-led LPR protects your stores
in the real-world compared to Flock Safety.
Auror LPR protects stores from Vehicle’s of Interest (VOI’s) automatically from day one after configuring VOI rules.
Flock Safety can take weeks to manually update lists, exposing stores to potentially threatening situations in the meantime.
Intelligence-led LPR connects vehicles with all people known to have used it in the past – unlike any other LPR provider.
Flock Safety can identify vehicles, but can't link them to known people from past events.
Intelligence-led alerts empower your frontline by including all known associates and past behavior so they can observe, take action, or call for help.
Flock Safety only shares that a VOI has arrived, exposing associates as they evaluate the situation without context.
Auror supercharges investigations by connecting each person and vehicle involved across every event location – building a complete case that you can easily share with Law Enforcement.
Flock Safety allows you to search over 26 vehicle attributes, but if you can’t connect vehicles to the people involved it’s hard to build a case that will keep them out of your stores.
Our teams feel safer and are less stressed about dealing with potentially dangerous or aggressive people in-store, which means they are able to focus on delivering great customer service.
Profit Protection Chapter Lead
Flock Safety LPR promises hassle-free installation and maintenance, but
Auror integrates with leading LPR
cameras so you can invest your budget more strategically and save.
Flock Safety LPR alerts provide limited context, where Intelligence-led LPR connects vehicles to known offenders from past events so associates can observe, take action, or call for help.
Because Flock Safety LPR wasn’t designed for retail, there are gaps that intelligence-led LPR was designed to solve from the beginning – serving as the cornerstone of your connected retail AP/LP ecosystem to keep stores and people safe.
Renting Flock Safety LPR cameras may seem appealing, but be aware of the total cost of ownership.

Read Customer StoryAuror can integrate with the majority of cameras that are LPR compatible. We already have integrations with cameras from Axis, Hanwha, Adaptive Recognition, Milestone and others.
LPR cameras have software that process the video stream on the camera itself and extracts licence plate information, and in some cases other metadata such as vehicle travel direction, make & model, colour and the state of the licence plate.
The camera is configured with a URL that directs the software on the camera to send each vehicle detection along with an image of the vehicle to Auror's LPR platform. From there Auror determines if the detection is of a vehicle of interest for the organisation and sends real-time notifications to those that are registered for alerts.
We recommend cameras are placed on each entrance to a parking lot (car park). Each camera provider has detailed information on how to place a camera for optimal licence plate reads.
Alerts are processed in a matter of milliseconds once the detection is received by the LPR platform. The one factor that can alter the speed of alerts is the data transfer time via the internet. We typically see alerts being pushed to the mobile app within two seconds.
The key information that your associates need to know is who are the individuals involved with a vehicle of interest and what are their known behaviors (e.g. violence, weapons used etc.).
Auror provides the connection between the individuals and the vehicles, and alerts your associates with any threatening behaviors associated with that vehicle.
No additional technology / hardware is needed apart from the camera.
